Rachel Schaffer is an experienced corporate lawyer who was admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 2011, subsequently working at a top-tier law firm in London, and more recently was admitted as an Australian Lawyer in 2016.
Rachel’s strong commercial awareness and interpersonal skills allow her to appreciate a wider perspective on complex issues, and to respond better to clients’ needs. Rachel has advised blue-chip clients on a range of corporate matters, including sale and acquisition of business units, company restructuring, capital raisings, and international M&A transactions.
Prior to joining FAL, Rachel trained at Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) London, working across Corporate, Litigation and Finance divisions, including a secondment to a FTSE 100 company. Rachel subsequently qualified as an Associate Lawyer in HSF’s Corporate Division, where she predominately worked on mergers & acquisitions, funds, equity capital markets (ECM), debt capital markets (DCM), commercial & contract law and company secretarial matters.
Rachel completed her LPC (Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice) at BPP London in 2009, and her GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) at College of Law London in 2008. Rachel also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Monash University.
