Modern Slavery Statement

This statement is made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2018 on behalf of FAL.

FAL is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms within our operations and supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement outlines the steps we have taken to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery.

About FAL

FAL is a small to medium-sized law firm, wholly Australian-owned. We have established offices in Melbourne and the nation's capital, Canberra. With a focus on excellence, integrity, and client satisfaction, FAL is trusted partner for legal expertise in the Australian context.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human rights violations and all fraudulent behaviour. This includes not only our own organisation but those within our supply chains as well as our business partners.

Our supply chains encompass a range of services related to office operations, collaboration with recruitment and employment agencies, as well as the procurement of goods, including office furniture, supplies, and IT software and equipment.

Commitment to Excellence
As a small to medium-sized law firm, we value the relationships we build with our clients. Our commitment to excellence, combined with a deep understanding of the Australian legal framework, allows us to deliver bespoke legal solutions tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

Policies
To reinforce our commitment to eradicating modern slavery, we have a detailed internal employee handbook to guide us in recognising, preventing, and addressing any potential instances of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We continuously conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of modern slavery risk within our organisation and supply chains. Our due diligence processes are designed to evaluate and mitigate these risks effectively.

Our approach
Our working practices respect and uphold human rights for our partners, employees and contractors.
We recognise that awareness and education are key components in preventing modern slavery. We provide training programs for our employees to ensure they understand the signs of modern slavery and know how to respond appropriately.

We are committed to continuous improvement, through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our supply chain and stakeholder engagements. We adjust based on our findings to strengthen our approach to eradicating modern slavery.
