In Memory of Young Jack Stevens: Establishing Forever Four, a Registered Charity
Jack Stevens was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia, a rare blood cancer, three weeks away from his 3rd birthday.
Following Jack’s diagnosis, treatment, and devastating relapse, Jack passed away at four and a half years old.

Forever Four
Having been by their son Jack’s side, Gary and Louise Stevens understand the unique challenges and suffering experienced by children diagnosed with cancer and their families. In memory of Jack, Gary and Louise founded Forever Four with two key objectives: (1) to provide benevolent relief to bereaved families following the passing of their loved ones to cancer and (2) to increase the number of stem cell donors available to those with blood cancer and blood disorders.
Approximately 270 Australian children aged between 0 – 19 years are diagnosed with leukaemia each year. Stem cells are an essential treatment option for those cases that don’t respond to chemotherapy or radiation.
Unfortunately, there are too few donors on Australia’s donor registry. Forever Four advocates for members of the public to become stem cell donors and engages with the Government to make Australia’s donor registry more effective – a change that will save lives.
Forever Four also provides financial and practical assistance to bereaved families of children who have died from cancer – so they can navigate a challenging and isolating time in their lives. The charity hopes to provide bereaved families with respite accommodation to enable them to rest and have a much-needed break.
FAL Lawyers assisted Forever Four in applying for registration as a Public Benevolent Institution charity and endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
